In October, Jessica and Mark represented Stroud Masters at the National Masters Swimming Championships held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. Jessica, Mark and Richard recently competed for Gloucestershire in the annual Masters National Inter County swimming competition. Richard Searle, Jessica Wooddisse, Mark Partridge This year the event was held at Weston Super Mare for teams in the South West region. Competing against Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset, the Gloucestershire team finished in a well-deserved first place overall beating last year's winners, Devon, by 5 points. On the same day a number of similar competitions took place in different regions of the country involving other counties.

Hi All, It's that time of year again, to announce this years Christmas Dinner. The 3 course festive dinner is going to be at The Egypt Mill, Nailsworth, on Saturday 12th December, there is also a Christmas Dance included this year. The costs are going to be £20 per member and £33.00 for non members, this is subsidies by the club and will include wine too. Please could you let Jessica, Mark or Lorraine know if you would like to attend and a £10 deposit, by Friday October 16th.

On Thursday 3rd September 2015 approx 22 members and friends enjoyed SMSC's inaugural ‘summer gathering’ … which we plan to build on next year (…although can someone please book the sunshine for us?). Richard and Janice Searle spent the previous day preparing three tasty curries (a cauliflower, potato and French bean vegetable curry, chicken and chickpea Korma and a fiery chicken Madras) for the 28 swimmers, partners and children who had shown an interest in our ‘open water swim meets Eastern promise’ concept.
